Laynie is a long interior player with a nice touch on her shots. She tends to play with more finesse as a stretch-4 moreso than a true center. Laynie Dows a great job defending the post as her anticipation skills are good for her age and size. She will be one to watch as she gets older, stronger, and faster. Smith has the potential to be a very tall, yet agile athlete.

2024 6'2" PF Smith has a great understanding on how to get position and receive the ball to create half court offense. Her decision making with the ball on the catch is also solid for such a young player. Laynie has a smooth shot and can finish as well as shoot the mid range. Defensively, her length is very valuable at protecting the hoop. Definitely one to keep eyes on as she gets older.
